classics

We've just moved on to marbles...
Marble maze morning
And blocks and tracks...
Their inspiration
Using books for engineering inspiration...

Never underestimate the power of simple and classic toys to capture the imagination of children. They have the ability to bridge age gaps, genders, and play preferences. Something I'm especially grateful for in this moment!  Hickory Cat doesn't seem impressed one bit... Pin It

  3. Anamaria- It's one of the I Spy books. This particular one is the I Spy Super Challenger by Walter Wick and Jean Marzollo.

  10. I'm waiting for the day we can rediscover the marble run (when I can be sure my youngest will no longer attempt to eat said marbles!!)...the wooden train tracks on the other hand have been passed down from my eldest to my youngest and are currently in a state of "free-for-all" as all four children still love them dearly and cant quite leave them alone! :)

  12. So fun and simple. My kids are in love with marbles. I still have my great-grandmother's. We'll be doing this sometime soon. Thanks for the inspiration.

  13. Our children love doing the same, although we don't have as much track. There's a real knack to construction to keep the marble rolling, yet not falling off the edge.

  14. We love marble runs and we'll have to try an adaptation with our train tracks. Why haven't I thought of this? Just posted this to Facebook :)
