Valentine's Day Round-Up

There has been a lot of talk about Valentine's Day around here. I might have a new trick or two up my sleeve, but mostly I'll be recycling ideas from last year's good stuff. Here's a quick peek back in time.
Large photo: materials for inspiration
Left: newspaper bunting
Center: flower bouquets and heart buttons
Right: delicate newspaper garland

Left: woven hearts
Center: growing love (planting paper whites or grass in recycled cans)
Right: lavender heart on a string

Edible hearts...
Left: Valentine pretzels
Right: ice cream heart cake

Fresh idea coming as soon as we finish our next cereal box! (We're not big cereal eaters, so this is taking longer than I thought.)

And here are some of my new faves from around the web:
paper pulp hearts
The Long Thread's recycled Valentines
burlap heart wreath
printable goody bags

  1. love all the red and white!
your skirt button idea makes me think how fun it would be to sew buttons onto curtains and be able to switch out seasonal little bits.

  2. Oh yes, it's getting to be that time again isn't it? Thanks for the inspiration and ideas!

  3. I love these! Thanks for sharing. If I can ever get all of my Christmas decorations into the attic I'll start on the next holiday.

  4. I love the heart ice cream cake.
I think I will make one for my little girl who's birthday falls on Valentine's Day. It is hot in Australia so an ice cream cake will be perfect. We will be having our summer beach holiday at this time so I will make it before we go and take it with me.

  5. I've been searching high and low for the *perfect* valentines crafts-and I've found them all right here--Thanks!!

  6. Oh my, I have to agree with!

I can't wait to have time to start clicking through on instructions as the photos already have me sold.

    I adore your creative soul!!

  7. Fantastic projects for Valentine's Day!

Please feel free to link it up to Talented Tuesday at My Frugal Family!

  8. i love the little hearts on the bed frame!! (if that is a bed frame:) )

  9. I was so excited to see the post on the heart-shaped pretzels! Just this weekend my kids and I said we wanted to try to make our own pretzels:o) The last two recipes we tried were not tasty, looking forward to giving this one a go. Thanks for sharing!!

  10. Your felted sweater hearts are beyond charming...gotta do that!

  11. thank you for the lookback! So inspired all over again.
How did i miss the heart pretzels? I'm thinking they will be a great class snack to send along with the boys as an alternative to the junky stuff they usually get in school. :(

  12. Adorable! Thank you for posting these and your inspiration links. So much wonderful stuff to share!

  13. I had forgotten about your paper heart banner!! Thanks for the reminder and the inspiration.
