mini shots

Happy Monday to you! Hope your weekend was all that you needed it to be. I found some time to work on some new prints with a custom order for one of my favorite photographers as my inspiration.

These little cameras are some of the tiniest stamps I've ever carved. All under 1 inch. Ultimately, they will be on recycled fabric, but I'm experimenting with pattern on paper first. I love small, and mini prints are much more fun than I realized! Above- you'll find my original sketches that I then transferred to my carving block. I always find it fascinating to see how each stamp evolves such a distinct personality once they leave the pencil stage and have their image simplified, while being extracted with a blade...
You never know quite where a collaboration will lead. Custom orders for friends definitely have the ability to take on a life of their own. These sweet little prints certainly are leading me down a happy road. I'll be sure to share the final product soon.
Have a great start to your week!
