new beginnings

This firework display of embroidery was stitched for me by my dear friend kathrin of annekata.com I cherish it.
I slept! I went to bed before 10 pm! Just needed to tell y'all. It's as mundane as sharing what I had for breakfast, I suppose. But you know it's a big deal for me, so I felt confident you'd smile when shouted it out.

And guess what? Today has been super productive. Crazy productive. Checking things off that were on yesterday's list from the day before that, if you know what I mean. Might try it again tonight. Living dangerously, that's me!

The embroidery? Those gorgeous free-form stitches, that explode like a burst of fireworks, were created for my new year by my dear friend Kathrin of Annekata. I cherish it. Nothing like friends who know how to support and inspire new beginnings. I hope I might be that to you in some small way.
Thinking of you all with your fresh starts and baby steps.

  1. I am so glad - I slept last night well for me. This might sound crazy but I do count backwards from 99. I also make sure I can breathe through my nose not my mouth. Warm milk and honey helps.

  8. Why, yes, of course you do help me with my new year: by being inspiring as always.
Yesterday morning I took a head cleaning walk alone through our beatiful austrian woods up the mountain. I was thinking about "baby steps", so in a way you were with me, dearing deeper and deeper into unknown wood: how rewarding that!
Huge majestetic trees, moss covered the ground and wood, patches of snow and air so fresh, you could drink it!

  9. Good girl! Honestly, at my advanced age, it is all I can do to keep my eyes open for the evening weather report!

Love that embroidery piece! And here is some inspiration: I popped in on my mom who was tackling (for the umpteenth time) a needlepoint stocking for my niece (she has made them for everyone in the family ... but has stalled with my niece and my daughter) She swears she will finish them. When we moved her 3 years ago I found this half finished crewel work and after some gentle teasing she asked for it and finished it! So there is hope for all of us (my mom is 87 ... I joke that her UFOS are keeping her alive!)

Yup, all we need is love ... and plenty of rest! xo
