trabajo

This mountain of wood is certainly not going to stack itself. I think I secretly believed it might. Between fall chores and workish deadlines... this week is F*U*L*L*!  I'm thrilled for some exciting deadlines (one is peeking out in this shot), and I'm grateful for the security of warmth that this heap represents... but wowza-  I'm busy.  Some might be wishing for a few extra hands around here... me? Just more hours in the day. I'm quite content with my own hands and like the feeling of my muscles growing stronger... those on my arms and also my heart. How's your week going? I bet you're busy too... we can do it, I know we can!

  1. Wow it looks like you have your work cut out for you but I know between you and your son you will get it done! This week is turning out to be rather drizzly... which makes for good inside work. Busy in fits and starts this week but thankfully things are getting done in the "down" time as well. Those little jobs that pile up until you just can't ignore them any longer!

    Have a wonderful week!!

  2. Yes, busy, busy. I've planned a celebration of yarn here at the farm and am really going to need to hustle to get myself and the studio and the barn ready for company!

You know what they say about good firewood? (warms you up twice!) It's good to be busy and I can sense that you are getting stronger. You can do it!

  3. Good for you! I did most of the woodstacking by myself this winter just gone (we're enjoying spring now in NZ!) as B. had a foot injury, and while it was back-breaking at times, it was very satisfying to see what I'd accomplished at the end!

    1. Yup... I've got helpers... it does take a little baking bribery, though. yesterday was custard for stacking... today might be brownies!

  5. 'Sleep is such a waster of time'...was something one of my children expressed to me regularly. It wasn't a devaluation of sleep - it was an expression of wanting more hours to do creative things! I find myself thinking this too...

  7. Stacking wood is my favorite fall chore. A few cords, quite a few NPR podcasts, some coffee, and I'm good!!

  8. Why do you have to stack wood? Can't you just take chunks off that pile as you need it? Is it better for the wood or you if it is stacked? As you can guess I have no experience with wood. :)

    1. We have a covered wood shed... it keeps the wood dry and in the winter we don't have to dig under snow to get at it. Good question!
