three!

Today maya*made turns three. What an amazing ride it's been so far! Several years ago, I had been hungry for an adventure and in need of a way to channel my creative energy. This blog has been all of that and so much more. It has strengthened my confidence, shaped a career, and given me what feels like an unofficial degree in craft/design/marketing.  But most of all, it has graced me with you. I'm so humbled that you stop in regularly to peek at what I'm up to, grateful that you email little love notes which keep me going, and always excited to hear your thoughts and comments. It seems fitting to invite you into my studio today.

 Well, actually it's my studio a couple of weeks ago when I could see the floor and didn't need to move piles just to cut fabric! It's a good visual reminder to me that order will return again, and that the chaotic state it's currently in, is a perfect representation of the hard work I'm doing behind the scenes. It will be such a relief to share my book details (hopefully some hints in the fall), but know this: I have hoarded and saved my very best ideas and it's thrilling to see them all lined up in one spot. THRILLING! The first book photo shoot is around the corner, and I'm beside myself!

Back to the place where all the magic happens... yes, my inspiration boards are bursting. That's how my mind always feels, so better to get it out and up on the wall so that I can sleep at night.

 Now I'm off to sort out what projects to entice my children with... it's a snow day (we live at the north pole, it seems)  and another opportunity to hone my balancing act skills.
