I just wanted to share a little peek at one of our favorite parts of the weekend. Saturday evening we continued my childhood tradition of the bunny line up.
The house was scoured for every single rabbit available, and then they were all arranged for patient waiting. Come dawn, each one miraculously had a jolly bean in their paws or lap... and even a few between the ears. Might I love this more than they do? It's quite possible!
When I was a girl, I lined them up by my bedside, but I was an only child until I was 9. With two children, the sun room bench has become our spot. I don't know what we'd do without that bench. It extends along all the windows and makes the perfect place to sit, work and play. Our dollhouse has moved onto it and gets far more attention than it did on the floor.
If you have a growing child, may I suggest raising dollhouses and the like a foot or two onto a low table, crate or bench. It is just the shift their bodies need to make play inviting. I took a few extra shots when we made our butterflies last week. Here's our very full dramatic play corner on the south side of our sun room. With the rising temperatures we have all enjoyed returning to our favorite (3 season) room.
I would love to play in that room! Even as an adult, but especially when I was a child. So much light, and so many fun, wooden things! That dollhouse is delightful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shari- The grown-ups in the house DO love to play in there too! The dollhouse was a gift from my grandmother to my son when he was 2. 10 years later and it's still going strong. I'm sure I'll be passing it on to my own grandchildren one day!
ReplyDeleteOh my. That room looks so inviting. Can I come over to play? ;)
ReplyDeleteLove all the bunnies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to do at Easter.
And - that is a fantastic room!!
I bet it gets lots of use, especially with those big windows looking out to the garden.
Hope the teddies are enjoying their tea-party...
So lovely and inviting... a wonderful atmosphere for play and being. Warm regards!

ReplyDeleteWhat a thrill for your kids to play in THERE.
I like your tip on bringing the toys up. I placed a closet shoe shelf on it's side and it is awesome for playtime.
And I love the bunny tradition ;)

I loved hearing about your bunny tradition! It made me smile because yesterday afternoon, my 7-yr old son and I gathered all the bunnies (turns out there were 6 of them), placed them in a basket, and took them all for a walk around the neighborhood for Easter Sunday. Cheers~
ReplyDeleteWow, that room looks like a kid wonderland. Your daughter is so lucky!

We do this too! Every Easter eve, if not before, we gather all of the rabbits (and chicks and lambs and other springy things), so that they can see the Easter Bunny. :) - Jessica
ReplyDeleteThe 'bunny lineup' is just gorgeous. It makes me think that one of those bunnies has been up to no good and needs to be picked up out of the line up. I reckon the happy one with the carrot did it. Death by chocolate. x
ReplyDeleteWebsite is very comprehensive and informative. I have enjoyed the visit. From
