the color of our weekend

The harvest/Halloween season is upon us. This weekend there were gorgeous colors found everywhere. From the beautiful blue skies to the countless pumpkins at a carving party...

to the (over the top) rainbow caramel apples at a birthday celebration...

Lots of festivities going on!

But my favorite bit of color was this snack plate I put out on Saturday filled with raw seasonal veggies from our CSA. Turnips, gold and purple carrots, and sweet red peppers.

We can eat truckloads of these sprinkled with coarse sea salt. In the midst of munching, our clever girl discovered a matryoshka doll had come to join us.

We were all so impressed with her ability to see potential and then create it. We ate matryoshkas until the peppers ran out.

Hope you had a great weekend! My wish for all of us this week? The ability to find fun and creativity in the ordinary and unexpected. Pin It

  1. I have found a renewed interest in slicing veggies for just this reason. The insides of things are often far more beautiful that the outside.
