w.i.p.

I've had these "work in progress" (w.i.p.) buckets on my mind for months... I sewed them up a couple of weeks ago, but they waited for their stenciling until today. This entire week was all about completing a bunch of my creative works, so ending with these is a bit ironic. It feels so good to sew that last seam or bind off a row, doesn't it? Most of the time I have various projects going at once. Lots of little piles, bags, and baskets filled with wonderful things to work on in the spare moments here and there. I thought it would be fun to have a designated bucket or two that had my current project. Both sizes work for knitting and crochet, but the small seems perfect for my little hand works... especially embroidery.

I made an extra set of these and I'll be putting them in my shop.

I hope you have an opportunity this weekend to pick up one of your projects and spend some time with it!

One last thing... I had to share that my wedding dress above our bed was on Apartment Therapy this week... click here... very fun! Pin It

  2. Thank you for all of your awesome creations. You've inspired me to make some fabric baskets of my own, but I absolutely adore yours. I wish I could attend your spring barn classes as well! Wisconsin is a bit too far away for that. Keep creating:)

  3. Yes! Yes! Yes! I love finishing projects, especially the ones that I have let sit for a bit.

That's a very creative way to display a dress. I may go experiment with that idea right now!

  5. I agree -- very clever idea! But, I'm not surprised that something like this would come after a week of finishing up projects. In fact, I think it's very healthy! It's almost like an acknowledgement -- an acceptance -- that there will always be works in progress. Here, now you have a little place for them. No need to beat yourself up, they are a part of life! I really love that message today and am glad you shared. Thanks!

  10. I saw the AT post with your dress, Maya. You're really out there on the 'bleeding edge' of things; and what I like best about it is that you're fresh approach is laced with simpler times.

  11. With all my WIP's I would need to so many of these fantastic buckets. I keep trying to force myself to finish off some old projects but then ideas pop into my head and off I go on another creative tangent.
I love your decorating ideas. Better to have something so lovely and meaningful displayed on your wall ( who cares about a little dust ) then stashed away in a box or plastic bag in some attic.
Have a wonderful weekend sweet maya.

  12. What a fun idea! I love making lists of things to do and projects to complete, so this is a way to make those lists three dimensional.
