Creativity Camp

Our country home is the perfect setting for outdoor play and adventures. When my son was young, I hosted Creek Camp for two summers in a row. We hired a wonderful local science teacher and had the most amazing experiences right in our backyard. We are blessed with wide open meadows, trails through the woods and two creeks filled with opportunities for biology, botany and exploration. It's always been a wonderful space to share with children.

My dream to offer my daughter a similar experience of summer camp in her own "back yard" will come true this year! The focus will be on what excites her. I'm so fortunate that we share the same passions, so I will be hosting and directing three unique sessions that are each going to be amazing. There will be sewing, repurposing, natural dyeing, eco art, art installations in the woods, clay harvesting, printing, stamping,  painting, gluing, cutting, bookmaking, journaling, and so much more! Every day will be filled with opportunities for developing healthy self images through creative expression. The setting will be inspiring, as you can imagine the fun I will have setting up outside studio spaces for the girls to make stuff under a canopy of trees and a ceiling of puffy clouds. Rainy days? No problem, our home is designed for group crafting!

If you are local, with a 7-10 year old girl, and would like more info- just drop me an email.

  3. Oh Oh Oh Oh! If only I could click my heels three times and transport me and my girl out there! I can't wait to see the pix and hear your stories. This is something I would love to do ... unfortunately summer time here can be a little rough for long days outdoors - if the sun doesn't blister you, the wind will carry you away! Life on the Prairie.

Really loving this ... so happy for you and your girl! xo

  6. This sounds fantastic Maya! I bet you are over the moon with planning and preparing for this adventure. Yet again I wish we were neighbours on the same coastline!

  7. This is a dream of mine. Hosting kid camps. We live in a neighborhood, so mentally I feel limited. But I know even just a morning of experiencing the outdoors and art would be so doable in my little yard. I'm inspired by what you are doing! Wish my girl could participate!
