the big one!

 Phew! This is my third attempt at this post... it's hard to find the words for something I'm so excited to finally tell you! I know, I know... I get excited about a lot of things, right?  But this is different. This is the BIG ONE. This is a serious dream come true. I've been working on a project for years... mostly in my head and then a series of notebooks. I knew it would take a focus that I wouldn't have until my family was ready to be on board, too. Well, we're all ready... it's happening, folks! At the beginning of the year, I happily signed a contract with Wiley Publishing! Wahooooo!

My very own book will be released in early spring of next year!

These last two months have reminded me of the first trimester of pregnancy... when you haven't fully announced your news, and are quietly holding a lovely secret that has transformed your world. So, now the cat is officially out of the bag... but you'll have to hold tight for the details. They will be good and worth the wait, promise. YOU are the ones I'm writing it for, so I'll be sure to share as much as I can... as soon as I can. 

I know you're enjoying my excitement, too!  I feel it as I write. I hope you'll take a little piece of my joy and hold it tight... because guess what?

    yes i too believe that Dreams come true!
    congratulations Maya, this is so exciting. i love your comparison to being newly pregnant, this is so true and once the book is complete it is indeed akin to 'giving birth' and then comes the excitment and slight apprehension of releasing your 'baby' into the big wide world.
    from reading here i know that your book will be fabulous, beautiful, sensitive and inspired. my advice to you is to follow your heart, enjoy the journey and ignore the gremlins (who may pop up from time to time during the process & try & knock your confidence).
    writing a craft book is such an exciting process, so have lots of fun!
