gold and rust

rusty cow neighbor
gold and rust- my mother's shed
Today's inspiration came from none other then a common cow and a familiar old shed... but how extraordinary they were. I never cease to be amazed by what happens when I bring my camera with me on a simple errand. I always SEE the world with new eyes. Pin It

  1. Maya,
thanks for sharing this. We moved south this summer and the leaves don't change here. So, I am loving your post with the barn and the star and the beautiful leaves in the background.

  2. Cheryl,
I'm so glad the colors were meaningful for you. I grew up where the leaves never changed and each year (this is our 10th!)in the northeast feels like a miracle to me!

  3. Beautiful pictures. I recently started bringing my camera with me more often. I'm amazed at how much more I notice, even when I don't have my camera with me.

  4. Great pics. I'm taken by the Hereford cow. We raise Herefords on our ranch and think they are the prettiest cows of all!

  5. P.S. Upon second look, that appears to be a steer or a bull, not a cow.

  8. Thanks for the insights, Jody! I know very little about cattle, considering how many farms surround me. This "fellow" lives down my road in a herd of under a dozen other Herefords. They always look so striking... any time of year.

  10. I've been thinking about your shed all day. I spotted it on Flickr this morning. You're right Maya, I have started taking my camera to school with the kids and I'm amazed at all the natural beauty I'm discovering - a whole new world.
