nesting

I'm spending a little time rearranging corners in my home and am determined to do a few needed house projects this week. Let's call it early spring cleaning. Since I'm easily sidetracked when I start several creative projects at once, I thought I'd try something new here to enhance my focus. For the next few days my posts will include a single image and a phrase or question to ponder.

Nesting is the key to ____________ .

There is no right answer. Please join in if you'd like. I always love to hear your point of view. Of course, quiet pondering is just right, too!

  4. I'm listening to Radcliffe's The Mysteries of Udolpho at the moment and the novel begins with a quote from the Scottish poet James Thomson - "home is the resort Of love, of joy, of peace and plenty, where, supporting and supported, polish'd friends And dear relations mingle into bliss." Love, joy, peace, plenty and our dear family and friends - sounds like the perfect nest to me :-)

  6. nesting is key to... welcoming. we nest for rare and interesting guests coming to stay, we nest to make our home welcome for friends, we nest for new seasons and we especially nest for new babies!!!

  7. Nesting is the key to...comfort. My soldier son in Afghanistan creates a "nest" wherever he is, even in a war zone tent, just for the comfort of home. It usually includes a quilt I made and lots of things from home.

  10. ...serenity. We've been cleaning and clearing and painting and reorganizing to welcome our new baby daughter, who is due in early March. We're preparing for a chaotic time ahead, but also a time that will be filled with happy visits from family and friends. The more serene our homestead (and state of mind), the more present we can be for these loved ones.

  14. Nesting is the key to feeling at home in your own life!

I don't know if that makes sense, but I find that as I make my home reflect who I am, I feel a deeper awareness that my life is my own creation.

Lovely image! Thanks for making us think.
