my calendar girls

More good news! October is feeling so full. I'm very happy to announce that one of my photos will be included in the 2010 Whip Up Calendar. I can't thank Kathreen and the wonderful panel of judges enough. What incredible company I'm in. Every month features work from artists I admire greatly. But there is more. I have had the 2009 calendar above my computer in my studio all year long. I didn't have time or nice lighting to take a proper shot, but this photo (taken for another purpose) has it peeking out in the left hand corner.

I purchased it for the obvious inspiration it would give me each month. By golly, I believe it worked! Imagine how it must feel looking up at it (it's above me as I type each post), right now! So, I say it again... with no fear of sounding like a broken record, because the message is too important: "BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAMS".

Now here's the absolute best part. Do you remember the story behind that photo of my lovely visiting nieces, the new Whip Up August girls? Distance and lack of funds have meant that I haven't seen them since that magical summer. I miss them in an excruciating way... being able to share this news with my little sister was jump up and down exciting. And then I got to tell her what month they are featured on, just when she thought it couldn't get better! For my sister's entire birthday month, she gets to look at her lovely daughters/fairies. Serendipity at its finest.

I can tell you from my own experience, these calendars are beautiful and perfect for any home/studio needing a little boost of artistic energy and spirit. Get all of the calendar details right here:

edit: directly after I pushed publish, I had an e-mail confirmation that my copies of the calendars had just shipped from Lulu... serendipity strikes again! (note to my family members: yes, I bought you one too!) Pin It

  15. That is so fantastic! By the way, my children helped me make the apple cake today and they gave it rave reviews! We cut it in half and are going to take one big piece to a family that welcomed a brand new baby boy into their home 2 weeks ago! But we're going to have to make another one for us!
